Staffing Surveys

On a regular basis, we meet with management to discuss safe staffing levels. To meaningfully discuss problems with staff levels on our units, we need your input on staffing.

Hand Off Survey

Management at UWHC is attempting to change our reporting procedure based on supposed recommendations from JCAHO. We think some of the changes are unwise and unnecessary. Please help out by filling out our Hand Off Survey to give your views on shift reports.

Ban on Mandatory Overtime

As a result of our 2004 contract victory, effective May 17, 2006, forced overtime is banned at UW Hospital and Clinics. To learn about your rights and the details of the ban, click here.

A Greater Voice in Working Conditions and Patient Care

One of our Bargaining Committee's primary objectives during bargaining was to achieve more of a voice for professional staff in the decisions that affect our working conditions and patient care. We came to several agreements with management that give us greater input on issues like floating, staffing, scheduling and professional advancement. Learn how we can have a role in decision making at UWHC through the Labor-Management Committee and the unit based Quarterly Meetings.
